It goes by many names and has a long history.

Today, Peace Action Montgomery considers non-violent direct action to still be a powerful tool of witness and resistance, especially in an era where we are arrested for gathering peacefully on a sidewalk in groups larger than 25, for speaking out at Congressional Hearings, for carrying signs that speak truth to power and messages that don't match the Adminstration's.
