Citizens for Peace, Baltimore:  A group that uses street theatre and the media

Counter-Recruitment.org:  A Website designed to facilitate local counter-recruiting efforts in the Washington D.C. metro area. 

Washington Peace Center:  Established in 1963, the group works on economic and social justice, including anti-war efforts.

Prince George's County Peace and Justice Coalition:  The county-level chapter of United for Peace and Justice in PG County.

United for Peace and Justice:  A coalition of more than 1300 groups throughout the United States who have joined together to protest the Iraq War.

Iraq Pledge of Resistance:  Organized to encourage nonviolent resistance to the war in Iraq.

American Friends Service Committee:   AFSC has long been an international leader on peace, and it is now helping to organize the anti-war movement.

AfterDowningStreet.org:  A coalition of groups focused on holding the Bush administration responsible for misleading the people and the Congress on the Iraq war.  Includes many useful documents and articles.

Education for Peace in Iraq Center:  EPIC informs policy makers and the American public about political, economic and human rights conditions in Iraq.

Women's International League for Peace and Freedom:  This organization, almost 90 years old, supports peace and other progressive causes; it has branches in most States and in many nations.

Campaign to Establish a US Department of Peace:   A grassroots group working to establish a counterweight to the Department of Defense.

CodePink: A women-initiated grassroots peace and social justice movement working to end the war in Iraq, stop new wars, and redirect resources into healthcare, education and other life-affirming activities.

Campus Antiwar Network:  Campus Antiwar Network is an independent, grassroots network of students opposing the occupation of Iraq and military recruiters in schools at campuses all over the country.

The Troops Out Now Coalition:  A national grassroots coalition of antiwar activists, trade unionists, solidarity activists and community organizers, begun in 2004.  

Iraq Veterans Against the War:  Organization of Iraq war veterans working to end the war.

Gold Star Families for Peace:   Organization of families who have lost loved ones in the Iraq war.

Human Rights Watch:   A research and advocacy organization dedicated to ending human rights abuses throughout the world.

Human Rights First:  A human rights advocacy organization, with a project to bring to trial the architects of torture in the U.S.

Amnesty International-USA:  Amnesty International, a human rights advocacy organization, undertakes research and action to prevent torture and to advance freedom of conscience and expression.  It is protesting U.S.-sanctioned torture. 

Torture Abolition and Survivors Support Coalition International:   A coalition of torture survivors focused on abolishing torture around the world.

Faithful America:   An online community of people of faith working for a more just and compassionate nation.  Much action focused on ending torture.

U.S. Tour of Duty:  Organizes public forums, develops media strategies, and produces video focused on anti-war work, especially of veterans and military families.

Veterans For Peace:   A national organization established in 1985 that includes men and women veterans from all U.S. conflicts, as well as peacetime veterans. VFW opposes the Iraq war. 

Win Without War:   A coalition of national organizations representing broad constituencies that aim to keep America safe by advocating for international cooperation and enforceable international law.

Friends Committee on National Legislation:  A Quaker lobby group, with an action focus on the Iraq war.
