Power for Peace
What We Do
To achieve peace with justice, we:
- Engage in old-fashioned, on the streets activism
- Sponsor educational events for the public
- Inform citizens about their electoral choices by highlighting candidates' stances on issues relating to peace
- Pressure our elected officials to vote against war and for policies to make our world a safer, more peaceful place

Our beliefs:
War is not a suitable response to conflict.
America has the resources to both protect
and provide for its citizens.
Ordinary people can change the world.
Our History
PeaceAction Montgomery has organized demonstrations, hosted meetings on peace topics, lobbied our congressional representatives, informed the community about peace issues, and sponsored a state-wide annual essay contest in middle schools in collaboration with the Anne Arundel Peace Action chapter.
National Peace Action's "Campaign for a New Foreign Policy"
- Support Human Rights and Democracy
The U.S. should exhibit international leadership by opposing the policies of human rights abusers, not rewarding them with weapons.
- Reduce the Threat from Weapons of Mass Destruction
The U.S. should lead a worldwide campaign to reduce and control the threat from weapons of mass destruction - a policy we could be proud of.
- Cooperate with the World Community
The U.S. should play a positive, leadership role in the world community, planning strategies for a future we can all live with.
